We developed a highly-customised B2B web portal for HSS Hire 

 

The challenge

The personalised portal was required for HSS Hire’s biggest clients, allowing multiple employees with different functions to login and view client accounts.

It was our challenge to: 

Develop a customised B2B portal linked with HSS Hire’s back office ERP system
Enable HSS Hire’s key account holders to hire and off-hire tooling equipment and manage all their hires easily
Help drive sales growth, particularly in their key account business, develop long-term customer retention, reduce costs and improve customer service

The LiveHire solution was a key strategic project for HSS Hire, with significant integration into multiple systems, as well as specialist development work meeting their industry specific requirements.

We are enormously proud of this project and are delighted to have been a key part of HSS Hire’s online success. The solution is a fitting testimony to Welcom Digital’s strong capabilities to deliver complex eCommerce projects in the B2B market.

Meetings to discuss functionality were held with HSS Hire and their key account holders. A portal that personalised account login was developed to meet their needs and its features included:

As the portal evolved for their key account holders it then extended to any business, of which 40,000 accounts now exist.

Key features

HSS LiveHire’s portal provides instant proof of delivery, together with regular updates of all hiring transactions. This includes a digital signature of the person who has received the equipment, plus an electronic image showing its condition. Another benefit is accessing pending deliveries to discover when equipment will arrive.

By ordering online, customers can see their business’ individual hire costs in real-time, allowing them to make more accurate forecasts. They can also see all current hires, all of which can be off-hired at the touch of a button:

Initially intended for use for 20-50 key clients, HSS Hire rolled out the LiveHire portal to the vast majority of their accounts. There are now around 1.3 million product prices currently on their portal.

HSS Hire won the Hire Association’s Excellence in Customer Care and Website of the Year awards in 2010. HSS Hire were also Highly Commended in the Cisco Real Business ‘Customer King’ awards for its technical innovation in customer services with its LiveHire site from Welcom Digital.
